CTS Publications

The CTS Register

The seminary publishes three issues of the Register, a professional journal for ministers, each academic year. Each issue addresses a topic in ministry that intersects with the mission of the seminary. Through the Register, CTS seeks to provide resources for our alumni/ae and friends who endeavor to practice transformative ministry in their communities. For example, the three issues of Volume 91 considered the first research year of our immersion project, The Center for Community Transformation. They offered reflections by the faculty on the September 11 events and the continuing aftershock, and provided the first four Castenada lectures –talks given at the annual scholarship fundraising event for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered students. Libraries at other seminaries and institutions of higher learning also maintain subscriptions to the Register as a resource for their students.

Exploration Press

Exploration Press is the imprint of CTS’ small, but important publishing program. While offering some significant textbooks for our niche market, Exploration Press’s main purpose is to publish academic monographs and edited collections of essays that further CTS’ mission. Our most recent book was a festschrift for an emeritus professor entitled, The Honeycomb of the Word: Reading the Primary Testament with Andre LaCocque. Forthcoming is a theological commentary on the Gospel of Mark by Ted Jennings, Professor of Biblical and Constructive Theology, tentatively entitled, The Radical Gospel.
